A Perfectly Romantic Christmas Novella
Merry Christmas!
I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas full of joy and laughter. Although the 25th of December has officially passed, I am continuing my holiday reading throughout this next week.
The book I am posting about today is a novella written by Karen Kingsbury just recently published in October. Titled the Christmas Ring, it is an emotional story full of heartwarming messages and romance. I was gifted a copy for Christmas and once I started reading it, I couldn’t put it down!
If you have recently visited the Bookish Queen, you might have read my previous post about a book by the same author. Karen Kingsbury is one of my all time favorite authors, and you can find that post here: Christmas for the Baxters: A Baxter Family Christmas.
What is really neat about this book is that the author just finished filming the movie of the same name which released in theatres last month! Although I have yet to watch the movie (and I certainly intend to) I am sure it is as fantastic as the rest of all her books and movies are.
The Christmas Ring is about a military widow named Vanessa who lost her ruby ring years ago. Although she wanted to give up hope many times, years later she still prayed nightly for the piece of jewelry to turn up. It hadn’t been just any mere bauble. Although it didn’t have much value in money, it had been a family heirloom, one that was passed down through their family and Vanessa had wanted to gift it to her own daughter on her graduation, as her mother once had and continue the tradition. Even when all seems to have been lost, Vanessa refuses to stop praying.
While losing the ring is highly difficult, Vanessa finds that this event did manage to bring a blessing into her life.
After losing her husband, she had thought that she would never have a chance at love again. That it would be impossible for her to fall in love a second time.
However, when she meets an antique dealer named Ben, that all changes. Instantly, they both realize that there’s chemistry between them. And Vanessa realizes that she may have a second chance at love after all.
I love this book because of its captivating storyline, unique characters, and beautiful way of writing. It’s one of my favorite books by Karen Kingsbury and I highly recommend it.
