If you’re a visitor to this page, it’s most likely because the title captured your attention. Welcome!
Thank you for visiting the Bookish Queen, I love all of my readers, and it makes me so happy to be able to own this small corner of the book world.
Spreading Epilepsy awareness has been an important part of my book reviewing journey. I strongly believe that it is a topic that is highly underrepresented in modern literature and needs to be thoroughly addressed in the way that it deserves.
Epilepsy is a chronic neurological illness that affects people of all ages all over the world in a variety of different forms. It is one of the most common diagnoses among neurology, yet it makes my heart hurt that still so many people are unaware of it.
This is why this page is dedicated to raising awareness. I want people to know about it. I want people to google it and learn about its physical and mental impacts. I want more people to be seizure-certified. Most of all, I want to help raise awareness. Raising awareness is something that is going to be an ongoing project, not something that happens overnight. However, I completely believe with all my heart that writing this page is a tiny baby step in the right direction.
I believe that it’s also important for the public to understand that not all scars are visible from the outward appearance.
But why is this called My Lavender Voice? Lavender is the color dedicated to raising awareness.
So wear purple on days like March 26th when we celebrate Epilepsy Awareness Day and through November as we support our Epilepsy Community.
You can make a difference by taking small steps like this.
Please join me on my spreading Epilepsy awareness journey.
I have previously reviewed books in support of this topic, which you can find on several sites here:
