An Amish Christmas Star: A Cozy Amish Book
I know, I know. Some of you might be thinking, another Amish book?!! I just want to get a review of this book out there before October begins where I will be doing some very fun and spooky book reviews!
Yes, I know it is September. Christmas is still a few months away! But the book An Amish Christmas Star released today, September 30th! This charming book can take you into the Christmas season, no matter the time of year. So curl up and enjoy this brand-new collection of Amish short stories, because they are filled with sweetness and romance all the way through.
Authors Shelley Shepard Gray Charlotte Hubbard, and Rosalind Lauer collaborated on this book to create three different novellas, squeezed into one pleasantly wintry book!
Buggies, Trains, and Automobiles:
Shelley Shepard Gray crafts a story worth reading, telling the story of two unlikely people: John and Ellie, who are both struggling to find their way North from Florida. Traveling isn’t always easy, especially in the winter. Fares and ways of travel are both struggles, but in the midst of their trials, God brings both John and Ellie together. Maybe they’re just meant for each other after all.
Star of Wonder:
Written by Shelley Shepard Gray, the stories of Raymond and Lizzie are intricately woven together. They seem to belong together. However, they are both aware that courting would bring criticism. Is it the Lord’s will for them to be together?
Starlight Everlasting:
Rachel and Luke have just gotten married. They love each other more than words can say, but Luke’s job a couple hours away seems to have gotten in the way of their married life. Separated all week, only to see each other on weekends does not appeal to either of them. Even spending Christmas together seems to be up in the air… Written by Rosalind Lauer, this novella definitely brought me joy!
I enjoyed all three of these novellas. All were set in winter, and the book seemed to radiate a sense of warmth and peace. I loved the overall tone of the stories, and the hopeful and inspirational messages each one brought. I will definitely be reading more by these authors!
I received a digital copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
