Are you looking for a book to add to your TBR pile?

For people who switch between romance and historical fiction genres (like me!) and are looking for a sweet, simple read that is a mix of both, I have the perfect option!

I generally read mainly historical fiction and romance. Many of these books are on the longer side, and the historical ones are often very heavy content-wise. Sometimes I find myself craving just a shorter novel that is less heavy, but a mix of both! With this book I can satisfy my hunger for both historical fiction and romance.

Have you ever read a book so heavy that it leaves you grieving for days??

Donna Jo Stone just released a book titled Della’s Song that is the perfect mixture of both genres and sits perfectly as a lighter read in between some of those heavier books! I read it in one sitting and thoroughly enjoyed it.

What I also love about this book is that it’s set in the 1930s, but the author also blended the fairy tale Six Swans into it and wove it intricately into the storyline. Donna, you’re so talented! And you all know I appreciate a good fairytale retelling!

After a train accident, Della’s life is completely changed. The accident left multiple family members injured and nothing is the same. One split second changed the course of a family’s lives.

The characters were memorable and kept me wanting more. The story kept me turning the pages and had a light touch of romance!

And a bonus- the cover is gorgeous 💖💖💖💖💖
