Empower Kids with _The Wildest Thing_: A Review

Picture books that empower the youngest of readers by inspiring them to live, laugh, love, and embrace who they are to the fullest are my favorite. How incredible is it to see this message being sent to children, especially living in a world full of pressure. Kids are often brought up feeling the pressure to be someone else and sometimes feeling like embracing themselves is the complete opposite of what they want to do.

That should never even be a thought in their minds, but it is.

This is where the new picture book, The Wildest Thing, comes in.

I truly believe that if the youngest generation is raised reading stories like this, that could shape who they become in the future.

The Wildest Thing is a wild and engaging story written by Emily Winfield Martin about a shy girl loving all things wild. Yet when the wild suddenly enters her home, she feels ready to release her own true self and embrace it in the way it was always meant to be.

Every page is filled with gorgeous illustrations and poetic words that enrapture your heart and beckon you forward. The beauty and simplicity of the story is uniquely different than many picture books I have recently read.

The back of the book jacket has a single sentence. These few simple words seem to be saying what everyone longs to hear: “A story for everyone who has ever known they are more than they seem.” How beautiful!

The Wildest Thing is a perfect read aloud for toddlers and kids. However, even adults will find the unique story memorable and touching. Some might even wish they had read a story like this as a child.

Read this with your whole family. I can guarantee every single person will find it touching in their own way.
